Brewery

The creativity of the Oproer brewers makes our beer worth drinking. Oproer is doing everything the Do It Yourself-way, constantly experimenting with flavors. We are making beers that we want to drink and are not following trends. We make trends.

The Oproer brewery is formed by two Dutch breweries you might know: Rooie Dop and RUIG Bier. Both of them cease to exist and are resurrected as Oproer!

Brewpub

In our brewpub you will find all Oproer beers and collaboration beers as well as beer from other good breweries around the world. 10+ taps and 30+ bottle selection. We focus on bringing you a quality selection of beer, jenever (Dutch gin) and wine. And of course non-alcohol drinks like fair chain coffee, good tea, various organic juices and soda’s.

Oproer stands for independance. To build our place, we’ve tried to recycle as much stuff from the brewery as we could. Expect a kick-ass, industrial, kinda rough place that has a soul.

Vegan restaurant

Oproer loves good food. From bar food to a three course menu.
Our dishes reflect our chefs’ varied backgrounds, combining flavours in unexpected ways to create inspiring combinations. We have a new menu every month. Oproer’s beers constantly evolve and so does the food.

All our food is plant based and organic. We collaborate with De Korenmaat, an organic shop from Zeist that sources our ingredients from local farmers. Oproer’s bread is made from the brewing process’ spent grains by the Brakkerij (bostelbrood).

Our beers

We are currently upgrading to a bigger brewing system to keep up with demand. We now have three beers available all the time and we are going to have more available when our new system is up and running. Besides these three we have a lot of specials and limited releases available in our brewpub and in a few happy places around the globe. Oproer also often collaborates with other (international) brewers. Examples are Oersoep, Brew By Numbers (UK), Buxton (UK), Gigantic (US), Hair Of The Dog (US), Deschutes (US), Base Camp (US), Breakside (US), Fat Heads (US), Insurgente (MEX), Tupiniquim (BRA) and a lot more. 

Our beers are available in our brewpub and in the Netherlands, but also in the United States, England and a growing amount of other countries.

24/7 India Session Ale

Style: India session ale

This session IPA is suitable to drink every day of the week, all year long. Easy drinkable and low in alcohol, still full of flavor. Fresh, bitter and really fruity.

Imperial Oatmeal Stout

Style: Imperial oatmeal stout
ABV: 9.5%
IBU: 80
Color: black
Size: 6x66cl bottles and 30 liter kegs

Pitch black and heavy, yet velvety. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout is brewed with oats that gives a soft mouth feel. Flavors of chocolate and coffee.

Black Flag

Style: Cascadian Dark Ale
ABV: 6.5%
IBU: 75
Color: black
Size: 30 liter kegs

This beer is a hybrid of an IPA and a stout: dark in color, full-bodied, but also chock-full of hop bitterness and flavor. A grist of pale, amber, caracrystal, chocolate and rye malts with some roasted barley, all steeped in Utrecht tap water, get balanced by Cascade, Cascade and more Cascade hops. A clean American-style yeast allows the malt and hops to shine.

The restaurant is part of the brewpub, so no separate tables for dinner only. Just come in, have a drink and order your meal at the bar.

    Oven baked root vegetables with a rosemary vinaigrette and greens.

    Grilled apricot with coconut-yoghurt sauce, freekeh, toasted nuts and seeds, beluga lentils and greens.

    Portobello burger, coleslaw with raspberry dressing, caramelized onion and cashew-lemon mayonnaise on a bun. Served with fried potatoes and a mustard dip.

  • Stuffed sweet potato€ 13,50

    Roasted sweet potato stuffed with chickpeas, almonds and parsley. Served with tahini sauce, oven-baked cauliflower and a pomegranate salad.

    Geroosterde zoete aardappel gevuld met kikkererwten, amandelen en peterselie. Geserveerd met een tahinsaus, bloemkool uit de oven en een granaatappel salade.

Impression

Location

We are located at the CAB-Rondom 90A in Utrecht. Next to the train station Utrecht Zuilen, also easy to reach by bus, bike or legs from the city center. But you can also park for free in front of the brewpub.

We are part of a much larger building. Look for the big yellow door and you’ll find our entrance.
