Oproer brews beers that the we want to drink ourselves. We do not follow trends; we experiment and create flavours that we like, often in collaboration with other (international) brewers.

In the Oproer brewpub brewing installation we brew our Lab Series and other experimental beers exclusively for the bar. In our production brewery, situated elsewhere in Utrecht, we focus on brewing our three flag-ship beers.

Craft beer bar

In our brewpub you find Oproer beers as well as beers from other good craft breweries around the world. We have 14 taps and provide a wide selection of quality drinks, both with and without alcohol. Read more about it. Be sure to also check out what’s currently on tap.

At Oproer we like to re-use and build things ourselves. In the brewpub and restaurant we’ve used recycled material to build the interior. You can expect a kick-ass, industrial, kind of a rough place that has a soul.


The chefs at Oproer are proud to offer food made with creativity and care. Winner of “Best vegan restaurant of the Netherlands”.
Our choice for ingredients used is plant-based and organic out of a desire to create a conscious approach to how we eat together.

We use seasonal and fresh ingredients from local farmers. The bread is made from the spent grains from the brewing process (bostelbrood).

As our beers are constantly evolving so is our food. Every month we create a new menu.

In 2017 we’ve got our 25hl brewing system up and running to keep up with demand. We now have three beers available all the time. Besides these four regulars we have a lot of specials and limited releases available in our brewpub (brewed on our small system) and in a few happy places around the globe. Oproer also often collaborates with other (international) brewers. Examples are Oersoep, Brew By Numbers (UK), Buxton (UK), Gigantic (US), Hair Of The Dog (US), Deschutes (US), Base Camp (US), Breakside (US), Fat Heads (US), Insurgente (MEX), Tupiniquim (BRA) and a lot more

24/7 India Session Ale

This session IPA is suitable to drink every day of the week, all year long. Easy drinkable and low in alcohol, still full of flavor. Fresh, bitter and really fruity.

Black Flag

Style: Cascadian Dark Ale

This beer is a hybrid of an IPA and a stout: dark in color, full-bodied, but also chock-full of hop bitterness and flavor.

Refuse/Resist Imperial IPA

Style: Imperial IPA

Bam! Here it is. This fruity double IPA is dry and very hoppy. A guaranteed enjoyable experience with a little attitude.

Imperial Oatmeal Stout

Style: Imperial Oatmeal Stout
ABV: 9.5%

Color: black

Pitch black and heavy, yet velvety. This Imperial Oatmeal Stout is brewed with oats that gives a soft mouth feel. Flavors of chocolate and coffee.

Our brewpub is located next to the train station Utrecht Zuilen, also easy to reach by bus, bike or legs from the city center. You can also park for free in front of the brewpub. We are part of a much larger building. Look for the big yellow door and you’ll find our entrance.

And many will be creating special brews specifically for the event — you won’t be able to find them anywhere else!

Admission to the festival gets you our special-edition sample glass, plus the opportunity to meet the best beer and cider makers in the world. The cost of admission also goes to covering the costs of the festival, including bringing these incredible brewers in from all over the world.

Most of the producers listed will be on hand to talk about their creations. Never before have this many small-batch artisans been gathered together in one room — well, maybe at last year’s festival.

In samenwerking met de enige echte Pubquizmaster Chris Piguillet organiseren wij elke maand een pubquiz. Aanvang 15.30, we zijn open vanaf 15.00.
Een Pubquiz is een uit Groot-Brittannië overgewaaid fenomeen waarbij teams het tegen elkaar opnemen op het gebied van allerhande onderwerpen zoals bier, sport, nieuws, muziek, films, etc. Een Pubquiz heeft niets te maken met IQ, maar alles met het vermogen om op het juiste moment het juiste antwoord op “weetjes” uit het geheugen naar boven te halen.

Let op:
- Meld je team van te voren aan via e-mail o.v.v. teamnaam en aantal personen:
- Er kunnen maximaal 20 teams meedoen.
- Een team bestaat uit maximaal 6 personen, geef aan hoeveel deelnemers er meedoen en wat je teamnaam is.
